Hurricane Ernesto reduced to a tropical storm and struck 35 miles
south
of our Laguna and Tarimoya centers. Schools closed due to high
winds
and heavy rain. Although there were 15 deaths to the south, no
deaths
or injuries occurred for our students, families and staff. There
was
heavy water damage in our new Laguna center with a large number of
books destroyed by the water and surface damage to our walls.
The biggest impact is the rain and cold has resulting in several
students falling ill. We will therefore have two medical clinics
at
Laguna in the coming weeks. All children will see the doctor and
receive whatever medications they need and then the doctor will return
in two weeks to repeat the proceedure. The students are now back
at
school and our center. Thank you very much for your prayers and
support.
