BLOG #05 15JUN09
Today we had our first clinic. We started in Laguna at the public
school a few blocks from our Amiguitos Community Center. We saw
less than half of the children in the school and will see the rest
tomorrow. We treated 120 children and 35 adults and dispensed 364
prescriptions. For the first time we had 10 dentists join
us. In Mexico university graduates are required to perform one
year of community service, and fortunately these new graduates chose to
work with us. They are young and very excited about their new
work. In addition, the teenagers from the center joined in the
clinic and helped in every area (last year only in Medical
histories). Now they work in Medical History, Triage
(temperature, height, weight, blood pressure), transport to doctors and
pharmacy. It was a great start! Curtis
