The Amiguitos Veracruz Center in Laguna has 66 students now (as of March 2010), 53 when the school year started on 25 August 2009. 30 new students have joined the center since school started and 17 students have left the program. Now there are 36 children in full - day programs and 30 in part-day programs. Their pictures are to the right.

Please consider sponsoring a child for the feeding program so that children can avoid going to school hungry and can learn more while at school ($100/student/school term collected in January, May & September). Sponsors are needed for students tuition in the full-day Amigutios school ($120/student/school term) and for students in the half-day homework support program ("CCA" at $60/student/school term). Donations are accepted online by clicking the big yellow "Donate" button on the home page of this site.

The staff of the center has a daily meal, homework support for all participants and a school and daycare for children through 4th grade. Weekend classes in English and computers are also provided for all participants. Each month all children in the center have a checkup with the doctor. During outbreaks of disease, the doctor comes weekly, checking on children and dispensing medicine to them and their families.

The center's school has 8 classes of students. There are 2 levels of preschool (age 1 and age 2), 3 levels of Kindergarten and classes in Grades 1 through 4.
